There is a definitive problem in one area, besides not having this filter class registered, which I cannot seem to do, if I have the DTS codec in FFDshow control panel set to spdif - then the receiver lights up with DTS signal - but it light flickers as if it is losing sync and the sound pulses or has an echo like sound. First I get Unable to create the 'AC3 Filter" filter. I went into ffdshow properties via the ffdshow control panel and disabled the ac3 output option. THANK YOU - I have been out of town - I just got back and I'm doing what you suggested. I moved to this player from VLC and so far I think zoom has infinitely more potential than the VLC - but this complication is a deal breaker if I can't get it fixed. Please help - the picture is AWESOME, and the audio isn't bad, its just driving me CRAZY that I cannot get DTS to work. I am using the spdif light pipe to connect directly to the yamaha rx-v2700 (no the hdmi does not carry audio out from the compuer).

I have a brand new dell xps 700 with an 8600duo card with HDMI out and x-fi audio card. I have tried to dvd vob files and three different mkv files. To prove this, I changed nothing physically, and set the DTS filter back to libdts and everything come through great - but in only dolby digital - as if it is being re-encoded.īefore we go through the have i tried seven hundred different combinations to see what might be wrong - the answer it yes. Its like DTS is losing the signal, but the cables are all connected. The disply on the front of the shows DTS and the speakers, then doesn't, then it doesn, then it doesnt - in the same pattern as the poping noise. Within seconds, the signal starts breaking up, poping if you will.

The receiver shows DTS and the speakers for which it is receiving a signal and I HEAR EVERYTHING perfectly. In any other configuration, it says either dolby digital or pro-logic, depending on which filter I have decoding. In this AND ONLY this configuration, the audio receiver lights up DTS. Using the filters settings (clicking alt-a and the selecting codecs) I select the filter assigned for DTS decoding (which is libdts in FFShow) and turn it off, sending the direct audio to the receiver. I have the light pipe spdif connected to the receiver. That having been said I am not sure that the lack of this filter is really causing the problem.

I have not been able to find anything that tells me how to install this filter. However it does not show as being installed, and when I look at the option menu is says it is not registered. I read where I should install the GABEST filter which I did. I read AND RE-READ the site and forum for six straight hours last night. I get either a stuttering effect or nothing. I have done everything I can to get DTS to work. I am not a newbie to computers at all, but I have truly introduced myself to a whole new world in my recent HTPC journey.
